Terms & Conditions

The Canine Rehab Lab

Last Updated: June 2026

1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions apply to all veterinary physiotherapy services provided by The Canine Rehab Lab.

By booking an appointment or using our services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Veterinary Consent

In accordance with the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 and associated exemptions, physiotherapy treatment may only be carried out with the consent of the animal's attending veterinary surgeon.

The Canine Rehab Lab reserves the right to request veterinary consent or additional veterinary information before treatment commences or continues.

3. Owner Responsibilities

The owner or authorised agent agrees to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information regarding the animal's health, medical history, behaviour, and current medications.
  • Inform The Canine Rehab Lab of any changes to the animal's condition, treatment, medication, or veterinary care.
  • Follow any home exercise, management, or rehabilitation advice provided.
  • Maintain appropriate control of their animal during appointments.
  • Disclose any known behavioural concerns, including aggression, fear, anxiety, or handling sensitivities.

Failure to provide accurate information may affect treatment recommendations and outcomes.

4. Appointments

Appointments are allocated specifically for each animal and treatment plan.

Appointment duration may vary depending on the assessment findings, treatment requirements, and welfare needs of the animal.

The Canine Rehab Lab reserves the right to modify, postpone, or terminate treatment where this is considered necessary for welfare, safety, or professional reasons.

5. Cancellation Policy

Appointments cancelled with more than 48 hours' notice will not incur a charge.

Appointments cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled appointment time may be charged up to 50% of the appointment fee.

Appointments cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time may be charged up to 100% of the appointment fee.

Failure to attend an appointment without prior notice ("no-show") will be charged at 100% of the appointment fee.

Cancellation charges may be waived at the discretion of The Canine Rehab Lab in exceptional circumstances.

By booking an appointment, the owner agrees to these cancellation terms and acknowledges that appointment times are reserved specifically for their animal.

6. Fees and Payment

Payment is due on the day of treatment unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Accepted payment methods will be advised at the time of booking.

Travel charges, where applicable, will be agreed prior to the appointment.

Invoices not settled within 14 days may be subject to reminder notices.

The Canine Rehab Lab reserves the right to suspend future appointments until any outstanding balance has been paid in full.

Where invoices remain unpaid despite repeated reminders, The Canine Rehab Lab reserves the right to charge interest on overdue amounts at a rate of 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate and to recover any reasonable costs incurred in obtaining payment.

7. Treatment Outcomes

Veterinary physiotherapy aims to improve comfort, mobility, function, rehabilitation, and performance.

However, outcomes cannot be guaranteed and may vary between individual animals depending on factors including diagnosis, age, compliance with rehabilitation plans, and underlying health conditions.

The Canine Rehab Lab does not guarantee specific treatment results.

8. Safety and Welfare

The welfare of the animal is always the primary consideration.

Treatment may be modified, postponed, or discontinued where:

  • Veterinary reassessment is required.
  • The animal appears unwell.
  • The animal's behaviour poses a safety risk.
  • Continuing treatment is not considered to be in the animal's best interests.

9. Liability

The Canine Rehab Lab will exercise reasonable care, skill, and professional judgement in providing physiotherapy services.

Owners remain responsible for their animal's welfare, behaviour, and supervision at all times.

Nothing within these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability which cannot legally be excluded under UK law.

10. Photographs and Videos

Photographs and videos may be taken for clinical assessment, progress monitoring, and record-keeping purposes.

Photographs or videos will only be used for marketing, educational, website, or social media purposes where separate consent has been provided.

Consent for marketing use may be withdrawn at any time for future use.

11. Data Protection

Personal information and clinical records will be handled in accordance with The Canine Rehab Lab Privacy Policy and applicable UK data protection legislation.

A copy of the Privacy Policy is available on request and via the website.

12. Complaints

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the service provided, please contact The Canine Rehab Lab directly in the first instance so that concerns can be addressed promptly and professionally.

13. Changes to These Terms

The Canine Rehab Lab reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updated versions will be made available on the website.
