Winback 3TX

Advanced electrothermal therapy for pain relief, recovery, and performance.

At The Canine Rehab Lab, we use state-of-the-art Winback TECAR therapy to support faster recovery, reduce pain, and enhance movement in dogs of all ages and activity levels.

TECAR therapy is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that works by stimulating the body’s natural healing processes from within, helping your dog recover more comfortably and effectively

What is TECAR Therapy?

Winback TECAR therapy is a form of capacitive and resistive energy transfer that delivers controlled radiofrequency energy into the tissues.

This increases local circulation, improves oxygen delivery, and supports cellular repair—helping the body heal  more efficiently.

We use professional systems developed by Winback, including advanced veterinary-compatible protocols designed for musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

How does it actually work?

Winback TECAR therapy works by delivering a safe, controlled radiofrequency current into your dog’s tissues. This energy interacts with the body at a cellular level to stimulate natural healing processes.

There are two main modes used during treatment:

Capacitive

Targets tissues with higher water content, such as:

  • Muscles
  • Skin
  • Superficial soft tissues

This helps to:

  • Relax tight muscles
  • Improve surface-level circulation
  • Reduce muscle soreness

Resistive

Targets denser tissues, such as:

  • Tendons
  • Ligaments
  • Joints
  • Fascia

This helps to:

  • Stimulate deeper tissue repair
  • Improve joint mobility
  • Support ligament and tendon healing

What's happening INSIDE the body?

As the current passes through the tissues, it creates a gentle deep warming effect from within (not just on the skin). This leads to:

  • Increased blood flow → more oxygen and nutrients delivered to injured areas
  • Improved lymphatic drainage → helps reduce swelling and inflammation
  • Enhanced cellular activity → speeds up tissue repair and regeneration
  • Reduced pain signals → helps your dog feel more comfortable

Unlike heat packs or massage alone, TECAR works from the inside out, meaning it can reach deeper structures more effectively.

When tissues heal more efficiently and move more freely:

  • Pain decreases
  • Mobility improves
  • Recovery times can be shorter
  • Risk of compensation injuries is reduced

This is why Winback TECAR therapy is often used alongside manual therapy and exercise rehabilitation—to get the best possible outcome for your dog.

Conditions TECAR therapy may help support

Winback TECAR therapy can be beneficial for a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Osteoarthritis and chronic joint disease
  • Muscle strains and soft tissue injuries
  • Ligament sprains (including partial injuries)
  • Post-operative rehabilitation
  • Spinal discomfort and reduced mobility
  • Tendon injuries
  • General stiffness in senior dogs
  • Sports-related fatigue and recovery

What to expect during a session?

Each session at The Canine Rehab Lab is tailored specifically to your dog.

  1. Assessment first – We always begin with a full physiotherapy assessment to understand your dog’s needs.
  2. Targeted treatment – Manual therapies are ALWAYS used in combination with TECAR therapy. When using the Winback 3TX, a conductive gel is applied to the area before using a handheld or bracelet attachment connected to the device where treatment begins.
  3. Comfort-led approach – Intensity and treatment is adjusted throughout the session to ensure your dog remains comfortable and the correct treatment is completed.
  4. Integrated rehab – TECAR is ALWAYS combined with manual therapy and tailored exercise prescription for best results.

Sessions typically last between 30–60 minutes depending on the treatment plan.
